The air filter is mainly used to purify the intake air and remove the dust particles. In addition, the exhaust gas of some production processes contains fine pollutants (such as radioactive substances, oil mist, etc.) although this type of purification belongs to exhaust gas purification, due to its high purification requirements, an air filter is also required.
The characteristics of air intake purification are low dust concentration and fine dust particles in the treated air, and the required purification efficiency is high. According to the different purification efficiency, the classification and performance of air filters.
Note: The general filter adopts the atmospheric dust counting method, and the high-efficiency filter adopts the DOP method.
According to the specific use, characteristics, and structure of the air filter, it is divided into:
(1) Use of primary air filter: filter section in general ventilation air treatment equipment or primary filtration of the fresh air system. Features: The filter material can be replaced by itself, and the initial effect of the paper frame is one-time.
(2) Folding medium efficiency air filter
Application: Filtration of the ventilation system. General air purification in the fields of electronics, pharmaceuticals, mechanical instruments, metallurgy, petroleum, chemical industry, light industry, food, etc.
Features: high efficiency, large dust holding capacity, small footprint.
(3) Use of bag type medium-efficiency air filter: central air-conditioning centralized ventilation system, or as a pre-filter of high-efficiency filter, it can reduce the burden of high-efficiency filter and prolong its service life, and can also be used in general industrial fields. Air purification. Features: a small resistance, large dust holding capacity.
(4) Application of activated carbon filter: effectively remove odor, volatile agent, bacteria, virus, and various pollutants in the air, such as paint spray, smoke, common pollutants in electronic factories and museums, as well as food processing factories and hospitals odor. Features: Highly developed microporous structure, high adsorption capacity, fast adsorption, and desorption speed, and good purification effect. The use of activated carbon filtration must have a pre-filter, otherwise, the efficiency of activated carbon will be reduced due to other pollutants in the air.
(5) Nylon mesh air filter use: ventilation and air conditioning systems with low air quality requirements or places with harsh surrounding environments and high dust are used as primary pre-filtration. Features: a small resistance, easy to clean, and easy to maintain.
(6) Sub-high-efficiency air filter application: various types of clean engineering and the final filtration of central air conditioning and process air supply systems with special requirements or the filtration of clean rooms. Features: High filtration efficiency, low resistance, and large dust holding capacity.
(7) High-efficiency air filter application: clean air-conditioning system, high cleanliness environment. Features: high efficiency and low resistance.
(8) High-efficiency filter with large air volume Application: high-performance filter at the end of the air-conditioning box. Features: High filtration efficiency, large air volume, and large dust holding capacity.
(9) Use of aluminum mesh air filter: In ventilation and air conditioning systems with low air quality requirements, or places with harsh surrounding environments, dust and grease are used as primary pre-filters. Features: Durable and easy to clean.
(1) Foam filter The foam filter adopts a polyethylene or polyester foam filter layer. The foam is chemically treated in advance to penetrate the internal stomata film so that it has a series of connected pores. When the dust-laden airflow passes through, the dust adheres to the hole wall due to inertia, diffusion, etc., so that the air is purified. The internal structure of the foam is similar to the loofah, and the pore size is about 200μm~300μm.
Foamed plastics should not be in contact with organic solvents such as acetone, butanone, ethyl acetate, carbon tetrachloride, ether, etc., otherwise, it is easy to expand and damage. Resistant to weak acids and bases. Gasoline, machine oil, lubricating oil, etc. have no effect on it.
(2) Fiber-filled filter The fiber-filled filter consists of a frame and a filter material. According to the different requirements for purification efficiency and resistance, various fibers of different thicknesses should be used as fillers, such as glass fibers (about 10 μm in diameter), synthetic fibers (polystyrene), and so on. Packing density has a large effect on efficiency and resistance. Filtration thickness and filling density need to be determined according to specific requirements.
(3) Fiber felt filter This filter is a non-woven fabric (felt) made of various fibers (such as polyester, nylon, etc.) as the filter material. It is usually made into bag type or roll-to-flex type.
The bag-type fiber felt filter is made of non-woven filter material into a folded or V-shaped filter bag to expand the filtering area and reduce the filtering wind speed. It has high purification efficiency and is often used as a medium-efficiency filter. This filter has many shapes. The filtration air volume of each monomer is about 200m3/h, and the filtration airspeed is about 20cm/s. The weight efficiency of artificial dust is 80%.
The automatic scroll filter can use foam plastic or non-woven cloth as the filter material, and each roll of filter material is about 20m long. The filter is composed of upper and lower boxes, a vertical frame, material blocking bar, transmission mechanism and filter material roll. After the filter material accumulates dust, it can be automatically scrolled and updated until the entire roll of filter material is completely dusty, and then removed and replaced. Each roll of filter media can usually be used for 8 months to 1 year.
(4) Paper filter The paper filter is a sub-efficient and high-efficiency filter. The filter paper used as a filter is:
Plant cellulose filter paper (for sub-high efficiency filter);
Blue asbestos fiber filter paper (used as a high-efficiency filter);
Ultrafine glass fiber filter paper (available for sub-height and high-efficiency filters).
Due to the high resistance of the filter paper and its low filtration wind speed, in order to increase the filtering area, the filter paper can be made into a folded type and separated by a corrugated separator in the middle. The separator can be made of high-quality kraft paper by hot rolling, and can also be made of plastic or aluminum. The outer frame can be made of wood, plastic, aluminum, steel, and other materials.
